The time has come in my kid’s life where imaginary play rules all, they LOVE pretending to be mommies and playing with their baby dolls. But their favourite thing out of everything is pretending to cook, and since I got them the Kidkraft Uptown Espresso Kitchen I haven’t been able to get them away from it! They love it! It’s easily big enough for two to play on it at the same time, with no arguing over who gets what!
When we first got the kitchen the kids were so excited to play with it! But first it had to be assembled, which was actually quite easy. The instructions were clear and concise, although there is quite a lot to it, which to make is one of the factors that make It worth the money. But once you get it all done it is so worth it! Look how amazing it is!
Personally I love the kitchen because it fits in well with my own, it doesn’t look out of place at all. They have clearly designed it with the kids and parents in mind, which is nice!
One thing that sets this kitchen apart from other play kitchens is that everything actually has a function,! All the doors open, all the nobs turn and the faucet rotates, which gives them more of a real life kitchen feel! It even has its own cordless phone, chalkboard, paper towel holder, and the sink is removable so it can be cleaned easily!
I love how realistic the kitchen is, all the burners on the stove are raised, the oven and microwave both have plastic see-through doors just like real ones. We even found some utensils which go great with it for only $15!
The kitchen as a whole is very sturdy and well made, and it is heavy enough that the kids can’t move it on their own but light enough that I can move it if necessary. In fact, everything about it feels solid, which is ideal when you have rough toddlers messing with it!
They love to get up and “cook” breakfast for everyone, including their dolls! They never seem to get tired of it, which is a hard thing to come by with young ones!
I think it is going to be a very long lasting piece of equipment, there shouldn’t be any problem with passing it down the family when they eventually grow out of it!
So my recommendation is BUY IT! They will thank you forever for this!
